Floorboards - Technical Information

OAK FLOORBOARDS

The boards can be supplied square edged or more generally as machined tongue and groove along the long edges.
The floorboards are supplied in bundles of approx. 1 sq. metre coverage.
Each bundle contains boards of the same width but variable length.
Variable length 80cm (32”) up to 3.35metres (10’).

Thickness 19mm. (3/4”)
The timber is kiln dried down to 10-12% in our kilns and then stored in an unheated warehouse.

ENGLISH OAK

Includes some sapwood, colour variation, knots, burrs, cracks up to 1/8” wide, occasional surface checking, small machining defects.
Holes over 1” in diameter, and cracks over 1/8” will be ruled out.

We advise that the flooring is stored prior to laying in an environment similar to that in which it will be laid. e.g. of a similar humidity and temperature. (Remember that new build and renovation work can increase the humidity temporarily)

MATCHING JOINERY

We can supply various standard joinery timber to order to match the flooring e.g. Bullnose skirting, architrave, window sills etc.
