Garden structure - Lawn Mower Shelter

The image of the mower shelter is a Door with a Halo.

From this vantage point the roof subtends a perfect circle. This image is emphasied by the boarding on the underside of the roof which is visually radial centred on the stainless steel boss of the top strap hinge.

Dimensions: The height to the top of the halo is 2600mm; the length front to back is 2200mm; the width of the roof is 1500mm with the door being 1200mm.

Bespoke oak garden structure for housing the croquet set and lawn mower

The design of this garden structure came from the need to house a precision mower, other lawn care equipment and a quality Croquet set close to the Lawn. This specification had to be achieved in as small a space as sensible, in a Work of Art rather than a shed.

The specification for the size of the base for the shelter was a minimum of 2200mm x 1500mm x150mm.

The roof is shaped so that all the water drains off through a channel and short wooden spout at the bottom.

The floor construction was made up of a concrete base; damp proof membrane and finished with flags.

sedum roof of oak shed

Sedum is a succulent that can be seen growing on roof slates with little or no soil. On our roof it has 30mm of soil so it should grow well. It forms a carpet of green fleshy leaves and a show of small yellow flowers. It does not need watering, it may need occasional weeding. We would need to trim the edges to stop it spoiling the profile of the circle.
