Curved Bridges

Radial Bridge

The bridge has a radius of curvature of 12 metres. It is approximately 1/12th of a full circle (30degrees).
It rises and falls 100mm in it's length.
All the beams that support the deck were cut from the same bent tree.
The handrails were shaped from straight planks, glued and finger jointed, together and sprung into shape.

Waisted Bridge

Waisted Bridge

The waisted bridge describes the same radius of curvature and has the same camber as the radial bridge above.
They are within sight of one another on the same path.
When groundwork around them is completed, cobbles will edge the ramp abutting each end of the bridge.
